2014 Jaguar XF Review and Price
2014 Jaguar XF Review and Price - The Jaguar XF lineup gets some important updates for the 2013 model year that the automaker says will expand its reach in critical markets--the cold, snowbound ones where rear-wheel drive isn't always practical. The XF and the bigger XJ both add new all-wheel-drive models for 2013. In the XF, the system has a rearward power bias that can send power to the front wheels when slip is detected; in different driver-selectable modes, the torque split varies from 100-percent power to the rear or a 30:70 split front to rear in winter mode. It's offered only with a new supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 that nets 340 horsepower--it's effectively the replacement for the former base V-8 engine.

The Jaguar XF Review and Price is everything the S-Type it replaced wasn't: Forward looking, technologically fresh, good looking, and sporty. Since 2009, the Tata owned British built luxury marque has been making a world class entry level Jaguar luxury sedan that carries no trace of self-consciousness about not lugging around an English gentlemen's club as its interior.
Coming in 2014, the XF is also going to be something else the old S-Type never was either—a bona fide sports sedan. To a few, a happy few, a band of brothers, (and possibly some sisters too), from the Sceptered Isle will come the 550 BHP Jaguar XFR-S, at about $100,000 a copy. For a mid-sized executive sedan, only the not so relatively rare BMW M5 can beat this Jaguar on paper.
Infotainment and navigation in the XF have been updated—including new Visual Lane Guidance, Dynamic Zoom, and My POI features to make navigation screens more useful. Jaguar is also turning to Meridian, a British company known for high-end home audio components, for its new premium sound system.
However, Jaguar only has to find 100 takers in a nation of over 300 million people, so maybe there is enough eccentricity to go around. In fairness, if you get away from the neon "French racing" blue and "arrest me" red paint jobs, there are still black, a charcoal metallic grey, and a pure white livery available that will return you closer to having a stealth bomber. This, despite being unable to delete red, blue, or ivory contrast "micro piping" from the upholstery. In fact, if you avoid all of the chrome and carbon fiber add ons, the XFR-S done in white, Jaguar's traditional racing color, even manages to hide a monster of a sedan in plain sight

The Jaguar XF has had one body style since it was new in the 2009 model year, but the powertrains have changed over time. Early XF sedans came only with V-8s--supercharged or not--but the newest models have supercharged six-cylinders, even a turbocharged four-cylinder. There's now all-wheel drive, too, making the XF a valid choice in areas where rear-drive is impractical year-round.
Jaguar Australia today confirmed that it will bring the sleek XF Sportbrake wagon to local showrooms, reversing an earlier decision to leave it out of the local lineup.
Speaking with TMR today, Jaguar Australia’s brand manager Mark Eedle said the decision to now offer the XF Sportbrake was thanks to the success of the wider XF range.
