Interior
Each switch engages with authority. The materials are superb. Every stitch, every tolerance is executed in perfect alignment. It is an environment ruled by a healthy obsession to detail and orchestrated for your satisfaction. The 12-way power adjustable driver seat is heated and cooled. Seat height, rake, seatback recline and seat cushion adjustments are easily controlled from the upper door panel that memorizes the preferences of multiple drivers. Equus also employs a unique thermoelectric technology that controls the heating, cooling and humidity of the seat surface for optimal comfort.
Safety
In addition to the usual airbags and stability control, Front and Rear Parking Assistance System With Rear Cross-traffic Alert, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, and a lane-departure warning system. The latter system tightens the seatbelt when it detects a drift out of the driving lane. We're not the biggest fans of these systems, because the haptic feedback can be distracting in sporty driving, yet turning it off defeats its very purpose. This system helps maintain consistent vehicle height and pitch regardless of load and road conditions, resulting in a consistent, comfortable ride. An available upgrade on the Lexus LS 460, Electronically-controlled Air Suspension is standard on the Equus.
Powertrain
The 2014 Hyundai Equus machine 429-hp 5.0L V8 The high-pressure die-cast engine block is entirely aluminum. A Tuned Intake System (TIS) maximizes power, while Dual Continuously Variable Valve Timing (D-CVVT) improves both low-end torque and high-end horsepower. Further details like the timing chain drive system, serpentine belt and iridium double-tipped spark plugs help make the Equus more fuel-efficient.
